HTML
HTML 4.01 was published in late 1999, with further errata published through 2001. In 2004, development began on HTML5 in the Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group (WHATWG), which became a joint deliverable with the W3C in 2008, and completed and standardized on 28 October 2014. HTML tags
Be careful which tags you use and make sure you are using them properly
Doctype tag
Use the doctype tag to set the level of HTML you want for your web page. Now if you give me a web page in HTML5, when I ask for a web page in HTML 4, you'll know how I tell the deference. If you're really sharp, you'll see I have even spelled HTML5 correctly (no space) and that I have also spelled HTML 4 correctly (with a space!)
Notes
Remember what I told you in class- my servers run on Linux- beyond the limitations of Windows! In the world I live, file1 and File1 are two separate and unique files. In is important that all your HTML web pages are named in lowercase only
Marking
You will lose marks if I find uppercase letters in the names of your web pages
