To work with our websites, the PHP plugin for NetBeans has to be plugged in...

First click on "Tools" on the main menu...
Then go down the sub-menu to click on "Plugins"...
Select the, "Installed" tab....

WARNING : Be sure that "PHP" has a green tick next to it, or else you have a problem. If there is no green tick next to "PHP", then simply put a tick into the checkbox next to, "PHP" and tell NetBeans to, "Activate" this

Notes

  • Netbeans will restart to complete the installation of the PHP plugin
  • This is additional feature that you have told NetBeans to install, that has to be downloaded and then, after installed, is subject to updates that might want to come in as well
  • Phoenix said it was about 8MB of download. This points to the power you have in NetBeans!- where just this part alone (the PHP engine) isn't bigger than whole of something like FileZilla
