Welcome readers. In this interview, I chat with Phoenix on the progress he has been making with regards to the use of cloud storage. Let's get right to it!
Introduction

No, actually, thank you Phoenix! It was great to have someone ask me about the cloud storage I've been speaking about. You've uploaded what you wanted to?- with NetBeans?
"I did everything for it in NetBeans, from code to uploading and getting it working."
Data protection
Did you, "protect" what you have?- where you use a folder that others can't find (so they can't, "steal" your work)
"Yes I have protected it as asked, but I am looking into putting password protection on."

Right! Tell us why you have done all this!
"I'm glad you asked,
For the large files that we submit we would have to upload them to cloud storage and then share a link for the files to be downloaded to be marked and then I remembered something, part of our DTP brief was to create a filing system and as well as Cyber talking about cloud storage, along with the size of some of my files for the briefs, so this got me thinking of maybe using our websites to creating a submission system where we can upload our briefs and they could then be downloaded to be marked. This would then add to learning about cloud storage that Cyber plans on teaching us."
Yes! This is a really good example of ...may I say(?) ...demystify ...what cloud storage is all about ...not so, Phoenix?
"I agree, this a useful tool to have in the toolbox, it also allows the other to learn more about cloud storage and even create their own."
Phoenix, you are paving the way for the other students. This is just what I am looking for when it comes to marking what my students must give me- starting with what I want at the start of next term!
"Would this not make everything easier, instead of having everyone bombing you with emails you can just go to a site and with a click a file downloads that has all the students work asked for in it."
Cloud storage vs online storage
Hi Cyber and Phoenix, Cloud storage. Such a necessary topic for all right now. Here's a list of free online storage
What our guest has posted regarding free online storage is nice for online bulk storage, such as...
- secure backups of local storage
- distribution of data to controlled groups of people
- a library of online files that follow you around the world
...but what Phoenix is tapping into here, is the fact that he is now the one who controls the rules over how his cloud storage works! Phoenix is now in a place where he does not pass credit to people like Google or Dropbox or Microsoft or any of the others mentioned there. This looks far more professional! Phoenix now owns his very own cloud storage and can make this look and feel the way he wants it to! Well done Phoenix!
